Heimtextil wears Selva

We already knew that the fabrics of Equipo DRT speak, listen, decorate and inspire. They also speak to talented young designers, as is demonstrated by this work of art made from our Selva fabric by Tabitha Altenau, a student of the Technical College for Apparel Design of Frankfurt.

The dress, created with the participation of other students of the centre, was on display from 10 to 13 January in Hall 11.0 of Heimtextil 2017under the heading ‘Culture clash’. The project was led by the designers Ina Franzmann and Rita Frankfurt, with the aim of reflecting the high degree of internationalisation of Heimtextil, in which the Spanish home textile design firm, Equipo DRT, took part again this year.

The students created and developed models to illustrate the colour trends and current inspirationsin textile design for the 2017-2018 season in an event parallel to the main fair.

Selva, a design printed on cotton, symbolises a natural, exotic universe where plants, animals and fairies shape a unique organic world, full of colours, life, strength and joy, designed by the artist Julieta XLF. Values that the young student captured and transformed to bring this original dress to life.
