Sustainable fabrics. Up-cycled fabrics. Keep this concept in mind because the recycling revolution that Equipo DRT has devised for decorating spaces is yet another example of our commitment to sustainability and textile design in fabrics for curtains.
Up gives a new life to polyester fabrics, turning these curtains into sustainable elements committed to the environment. Their warmth in substance and form, along with their weave, all bolster the idea that another world is possible, also in the home and in collective spaces. To this end, Equipo DRT developed this collection, which was originally presented at Maison Objet 2014.
Some of the greatest concerns of today's world revolve around ecology, the environment, and climate change. All of these are rooted in a lack of sustainability that inspired us years ago to rethink what we do. From this, a new, innovative project arose: UP. UP is an ample collection of curtain fabrics woven from recycled PET yarns. To produce a meter of fabric, five plastic bottles are used. This is what we mean by ”ecological fabrics.”
Design is thus not only beautiful and applicable to homes and contract environments, but it is also sustainable, sensitive, and committed. It has allowed us to add a word to our vocabulary, one that has been with us since 2014, when Equipo DRT launched this collection at Maison Objet and was a finalist for the Delta Awards for its development: eco-friendly.
We truly believe that together we must make the world of design grow without ceasing to think or, better still, by thinking constantly about the world in which we live and which we decorate and adorn. We want to continue doing both in an ecological and sustainable way. Here at Equipo DRT, we’re hard at work on it.
Whoever uses up-cycled curtain fabrics in the home or workplace, or in a hotel or contract space, is showing great sensitivity and using (and enjoying) an intelligent and committed design. They are conscientiously decorating, reusing, recycling, and giving new life to a product that had previously ceased to be useful. As Trevi, a textured curtian fabric.
This new start is the idea behind the sustainable curtain fabrics from Equipo DRT: Up-Swing, Up-Blues, Up-Checks, Up-Home 200, and Up-Home 300. Sensitive designs for spaces of sustainable luxury, of warmth with a conscience, of concern for the environment with impeccable design; these fabrics are concerned about today and, even more so if possible, about tomorrow.
Here at Equipo DRT, not only is our work backed by our passion for design, sustainability, and social and corporate responsibility, but it is actually accredited. In the case of our sustainable fabrics for hotels (as well as for the home and contract spaces), this is in the form of the GRS (Global Recycled Standard) seal that accompanies the Up collection.
In this way, hotels can count on fire-retardant fabrics that give life, comfort, luxury and habitability with the best guarantees. They can turn a hotel room into a home with fabrics like Up Home 200, a curtain fabric woven from recycled PET yarns, in this case, with a grid pattern. Five plastic bottles are necessary to make each meter of this beautiful — and sustainable — fabric. The color palette includes white, beige natur, champaign, and mink, all of which lend a special touch to any hotel environment.
Another alternative is our Up Home 300 line, with its striped design pattern. And what about you? Are you aiming for a more sustainable lifestyle? Are you Up?
